What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Support Technician position at Ovation Workplace Services?
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop systems, software, and hardware issues
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications
- Set up and maintain user accounts and permissions
- Monitor and maintain LAN and network connectivity
- Collaborate with network administrators to ensure smooth network operations
- Respond to user inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- Document technical issues and resolutions in a ticketing system such as Jira or ServiceNow
- Assist with office moves and equipment setup
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 7)
- Proficiency in desktop support and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking protocols
- Experience with network administration tasks such as configuring routers and switches
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Jira or other ticketing systems
