What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Over the Rainbow Learning Center?
We are looking several full/part time preschool teachers. The schedule is M-F from between the hours 7 AM and 5 PM. As full time or part time teacher you must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Infant / Toddler Teacher Responsibilities:
While the activities vary, infant and toddler teachers focus primarily on teaching children to share, express themselves, communicate, and collaborate well with others, follow their curiosity, and further their language and vocabulary development.
Other day-to-day duties can include:
- Teaching basic skills such as color, shape, numbers, and letter recognition
- Planning and carrying out curriculum
- Helping children develop positive self-images and experience success
- Encouraging the exploration of interests and developmental social skills
- Developing schedules and routines ensuring physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Teaching children how to play fairly with others
- Disciplining bad behavior and rewarding good behavior
- Observing, assessing, and documenting each assigned child’s health, skills, behavior, growth, and development
- Identifying any physical or mental development concerns in assigned children
- Meeting with parents to discuss concerns
- Optimizing children’s developmental, intellectual, and social achievements in class activities
- Providing leadership and guidance to other staff and colleagues
- Creating and leading a supportive, nurturing learning environment that encourages responsibility and motivation.
Required Qualification
- Proven experience as a Infant/Toddler/Preschool/Pre-k Teacher
- EEC certification for Infant/Toddler/ Preschool Teacher
- Minimum High School Diploma.
- Associate degree in early childcare desired.
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational method.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
