We are seeking a Project Manager to manage various construction projects and renovations. This position involves direct contact with both internal and external parties, and the ideal candidate must have a professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with all parties associated with the project.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee work sites for both new construction and remodel projects, coordinating site activities
- Oversee and provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors when doing groundwork ensuring quality standards are met
- Liaise between engineers, architects, municipalities, and others working on the project
- Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring issues
- Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes and other requirements
- Develop and maintain strong supplier, trade partner, and building inspector relationships
- Evaluate and recommend construction methods to increase quality and profitability
- Maintain thorough knowledge of ever-changing construction practices, materials, building codes and OSHA requirements
- Stay current on industry trends by reading publications, talking with material suppliers, and attending continuing education
- Provide project status updates as required, participate in project internal reviews, and monitor project schedules and budgets throughout
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 5 years in Construction Management/Engineering/Architecture preferred
- Proficiency in standard business software such as the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to write/review contracts
- Experience in bidding jobs with strong sensitivity to cost without sacrificing quality
