JOB DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a crucial role in driving growth by booking meetings for Overflow’s sales team. This role involves identifying and reaching out to prospective clients, nurturing relationships, and ultimately generating interest in Overflow’s giving solutions. The BDR will be responsible for setting up sales conversations that help Overflow partner with more churches and nonprofits, expanding the reach of our mission. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for relationship building are key to success in this role.

Success in this role requires a relentless focus on meeting outreach goals, the ability to engage and motivate prospective clients, and a passion for Overflow’s mission. The BDR will be on the front lines of our growth strategy, making a direct impact by helping connect our sales team with new opportunities. This role is critical to Overflow’s mission to inspire generosity by opening doors for new partnerships with churches and nonprofits.

Strategic Relationship Partner - Chase Maasdorp

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate new qualified leads through, but not limited to: research, outbound calling, and email outreach, creating new opportunities for the sales team.

  • Book qualified meetings for Account Specialists (and Strategic Relationship Partners) by effectively communicating Overflow’s value proposition across all products - Giving Platform, Tap, Generosity University.

  • Collaborate with GTM to develop outreach strategies and target key prospects.

  • Maintain detailed records of outreach activities, lead interactions, and meeting schedules in the CRM (Salesforce).

  • Continuously improve outreach scripts and processes to increase success rates and optimize workflow.

  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective customers to foster interest in Overflow’s products and solutions.

  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless handoff from lead generation to sales conversion.

  • Contribute to Overflow's growth by consistently hitting monthly outreach and meeting booking targets.

  • Present findings and updates to team about recent metrics and performance from meetings booked.

DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & APTITUDES

  • You are passionate about Overflow’s mission and are excited about how churches and nonprofits can be empowered through innovation and generosity.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a persuasive approach that resonates with potential customers.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage a high volume of outreach while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, to track lead interactions and manage pipeline activities effectively.

  • Strong relationship-building skills; you enjoy connecting with new people and inspiring them with the Overflow vision.

  • Ambitious, goal-oriented, and self-driven; ready to meet and exceed outreach targets.

  • Quick responsiveness to messages, internal team and external with prospects.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to work a hybrid schedule from either our Birmingham, AL or Mountain View, CA office.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

BASE SALARY Payable on a bi-monthly basis & subject to all withholdings & deductions as required by law

EQUITY GRANT Subject to approval by Board of Directors, 4 year vest, 1 year cliff
