Estimator

Overhead Door of South Texas aspires to hire an Estimator to join our team in the Rio Grande Valley. We are looking for an individual that is project oriented, has a knack for numbers, has strong Excel skills. If you have an estimating or a project related background, please apply!

• Plan analysis: Thoroughly reviewing project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to understand project scope and requirements.
• Quantity takeoff: Calculating the precise quantities of materials needed for the project using software tools.
• Cost estimation: Estimating labor costs based on project complexity, crew size, and prevailing wage rates.
• Material pricing: Obtaining quotes from suppliers and vendors to determine material costs.
• Risk assessment: Identifying potential challenges and cost contingencies that could impact the project.
• Bid preparation: Compiling all cost elements into a detailed and competitive bid package.
• Client presentations: Presenting cost estimates to clients, explaining the breakdown of costs, and addressing any questions.
• Value engineering: Identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality.
• Contract review: Analyzing contract documents to ensure accurate pricing and project scope. This is optional and can be shared with other management personnel.
• Project monitoring: Tracking project progress against the initial estimate and identifying potential cost variances. This is optional and is often the responsibility of Project Managers.
• Other duties may be assigned

Job Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
• Mechanically and mathematically inclined - innately good with numbers
• On the job training is available for those with strong attributes
• Proven experience in a fast-paced environment, juggling a lot of responsibility, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Previous experience working with doors/in the door industry a plus
• English and Spanish a must along with Superior communication Skills
• Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and clean criminal background
