Fire Sprinkler Design Manager

Overhead Fire Protection, Inc is a locally owned and operated fire protection contactor in business since 1979. We are seeking a new addition to our team!

The Design Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the fire sprinkler design process, ensuring compliance with industry codes, regulations, and company standards. This role involves leading a team of designers, coordinating with project managers and field personnel, and optimizing design efficiency for successful project execution.

Key responsibilities include will include:

• Lead and manage the design team in creating fire sprinkler system layouts using CAD and BIM software.
• Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards, local building codes, and AHJ requirements.
• Review and approve design plans, hydraulic calculations, and material lists before project execution.
• Collaborate with estimating, project management, and field installation teams to ensure seamless project workflow.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior designers and drafters, project team as we hire these positions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire protection industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure designs meet project specifications and deadlines.
• Oversee the permit submission process and address any code compliance issues.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely completion.
• Optimize design processes and software utilization for improved productivity and cost-effectiveness.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
