Job Description:
Come join a great project team. The Project Superintendent is a key position with direct impact on the success of our projects. You would be directly responsible for the day-to-day activities in the field. The Project Superintendent is the Company's representative assigned the responsibility and authority for daily coordination and direction of the project so that it is safe, within budget, on schedule, to the Company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. To accomplish this, you would be expected to conceptualize a plan of how to construct the project and must ensure that the daily and weekly activities are consistent with this plan.
Essential Duties Include:
- Development and implement a pre-job plan including site utilization and materials handling plans
- Participate in the project scheduling to ensure that it is the schedule is correct, complete, communicated, and followed
- Help to establish Overland Construction safety culture on the project
- Ensure a high level of quality control on the project for both Overland and for the subcontractors
- Ensure that all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Documenting and implementing corrective actions as required
- Maintain project logs, ensuring that the project site and construction activities are being constantly documented in writing and by photo
- Ensure efficient and complete “job closeout
- Review subcontractor billings and change orders
- Responsible for the storm water and dust control plans and the maintenance and adherence to the plans
- Responsible to manage all jurisdictional inspections and secure building occupancy certificates
- Must be able to understand cost controls and determine areas needing special attention and initiate changes and procedures to keep, or bring costs back, into budget.
- Manage vendors and subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis.
- Verify that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed
- Participate in the Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings. Along with the Project Manager, ensure Owner and Owner’s Representatives are aware of changes to schedule, potential conflicts, etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Project Superintendent with experience on Hospitality and/or Multi-family projects
- A 4-year degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills
- Proficient with construction software including, Bluebeam, Procore, Corecon, P6 (Phoenix, MS Project)
- Valid Driver’s License
