DESCRIPTION
The Ground Hand/Loader Operator performs various duties within the asphalt plant sites to assist with smooth operations. Duties include operating a front-end loader to transfer bulk materials from stockpiles to the plant hoppers, chutes, or conveyors and maintain a clean yard. Will have the ability to perform minor repairs to equipment as needed and perform preventative maintenance on plant.
DUTIES
- Operates front end loader while following safety guidelines.
- Feeds conveyors, hoppers, or chutes with materials.
- Performs equipment inspection daily (pre and post).
- Performs routine maintenance on plant and related equipment.
- Assists the Plant Operator with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
- Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
- Perform welding and fabrication duties as required.
- Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
- Must be able to travel to/from other plant locations as required.
- Ability to follow directions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred.
- On-the-job training offered.
Certificates and Licenses
- Valid driver license
Required Skills/Abilities
- 1 years of experience in operating front end loader.
- Mechanical skills.
- Ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of operating machinery.
- Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
