Overleaf Runner Protocol

1. Guest Needs
a. Room Moves
b. Guest Requests
c. Smiling and saying “Hello” or “Good Morning” to all guests
2. Lead Needs
a. Radio calls from leads
3. Stripping Rooms / Running dirty linen to laundry
a. Communicate with laundry on when they need linen
4. Property needs
a. Radio Calls from Houses (House people may be told at the start of the day if they need to be on their own, Lead discretion)
5. Disperse Clean Linen / Making Beds
a. Remember to prioritize reserved beds first and rooms that housekeepers are not in
6. Running Dishes (Currently not something we are doing)
a. This may be a higher priority if we are running low on dishes in general
7. End of Day Tasks
a. We are a team, let’s make sure these are done so the next team member that comes in isn’t put in a bad spot in the morning
End of Day Task List
1. Do a sweep of the floors for linen / Garbage
a. Check those corners near the end of the floors
2. Collect bottles/Dirty rags
a. Check closets for these as housekeepers can be forgetful
3. Fill Bottles
a. This includes your big chemical bottles you use for refilling and your big water bottle
4. Run Dirty Rags/Stayover Bags/Chemical refills to overleaf
a. Always try to get dirty rags over to laundry ASAP
5. Disperse Linen
a. Only leave a maximum of 4 baskets
i. If it looks like they have a lot of linen still to do, do one last run of all baskets before you leave
6. Clean Van/Check Van Mileage/Check Gas
a. On very slow days do a deep clean of the van, See Alex or Sheila
b. If gas is at a fourth of a tank contact Val, If Val is not here contact maint.
7. Clean Railings (Slow days only)
8. Clean Small Windows above doors (Slow days only)
9. Help Housekeeping with their end of day (Slow days only)

Before the Housekeeping meeting
· Clock in at 8:00am using the timeclock located in the Fireside breakroom.
o Be in uniform and ready to work BEFORE you clock in If paired decide how the workload will be dished out.
o One doing all the driving and one always on the floor stripping rooms and making beds.
o Switching after lunch between who drives and who is always on the floor. (optional)
Retrieve the van key either located in the office or on the lead mini table.
o Make sure you sign it out.
Fill out the van mileage sheet located in the van usually by the center console Disperse all linen baskets until the housekeeping meeting at 9:25am.
o If you have time, make sure closets are stocked equally.
o If you are overwhelmed with baskets let the lead know.
After Meeting / Before all rooms are out
· Strip rooms that you have been told are out.
o Do not strip the room if the door is open and the drawers are closed, it has not been checked yet.
After 4 to 5 rooms have been stripped, run the dirty linen to laundry so they can’t be overwhelmed by the linen or so they have something to start with.
o Unless training, only one person should be running linen over, someone should always be stripping rooms or making beds.
During down times / Slow times
· Check for stayover bags (Not current)
· Check closets for dirty or mismatched linen
o Sheets, Kitchen towel sets, Etc.
· Make sure we have enough rags
· See lower half of E.O.D. list.
All Rooms Are Out
· Continue stripping rooms and running the dirty linen over.
· Disperse linen
· Finish all beds (if you have time)
Run the Fireside dishes (Not current)
· Check in with Fireside and see if they need help with anything. Beds, Chemicals, Laundry
Do End of Day List
Make Sure to check in with all runners and leads before you leave for the day.
Stripping Room Protocol
1. Make sure the room has been checked before you enter.
a. Is the door open and are the drawers open?
b. Is there no luggage in the room?
2. If you encounter a tip, please radio your lead.
a. Do not put it with personal money.
b. Do not leave it in the room unsupervised once you’ve found it.
3. Strip all used beds.
a. If you are unsure if the bed was use or not, strip it.
b. Put Stained items to the side.
4. Strip all used bathroom linen.
a. Check hanging linen as they could have wiped their hands on it, or water may have splashed onto it from sinks or bathtubs.
b. Put Stained items to the side.
5. Make sure to grab washcloths or kitchen towels that are being used under cups or silverware.
a. If one part of a kitchen towel is used, grab both even if they both weren’t used.
6. Check for hanging dirty robes.
a. Take any robes that may look like they have been used.
b. Put stained robes to the side.
7. Make sure all linen is bagged into one of four types of linen bags. (Optional but recommended for new runners)
a. Bed linen bags should only contain non-stained bed linen.
i. Pillow protectors
ii. Pillowcases
iii. Sheets
b. Towel linen bags should only contain non-stained towels and robe ties.
i. Washcloths
ii. Hand towels
iii. Bath towels
iv. Cloth mats
c. Misc. linen bags should contain the following
i. Rubber mats
ii. Shower liners
iii. Shower Curtains
iv. Kitchen towel sets (both should always be taken)
v. Robes
vi. Make-up washcloth
d. All stained linen should be bagged separately in a plastic bag with a tag describing the stain to the best of your ability.
i. Make sure these are taken to laundry still in the plastic bag and with the tag in a place they could see.
1. Notify them as you drop them off.
Do not over stuff laundry bags. (They need to be liftable by all staff
