Resident Project Representative

Overstreet and Associates, PLLC (OA) is looking to hire a Resident Project Representative in our Biloxi office.

OA is a locally owned, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary company providing Civil Engineering, Surveying, and GIS services to our clients in both the private and public sector. OA has a local presence with offices in Biloxi, Long Beach, and Pascagoula, MS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Observe, inspect, and document underground utility construction as an owner's representative

· Ensure compliance with design plans and specifications and permit requirements

· Document contractor progress, maintain accurate quality records, process payment requests, generate punch lists and certify completion status

· Document site activities accurately by maintaining accurate and current field books, construction reports and as-built record drawings

· Coordinate with city personnel, client, contractor, and project stakeholders during course of projects

· Coordinate with third-party materials testing firms for concrete, soil, and field testing

· Advocate for site safety and coordinate with public for safety awareness

· Monitor and track additional work, change order work and/or force account work

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in Construction Management or related disciplines preferred
• 5 years of experience inspecting civil infrastructure projects
• Experience working for and with municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations
• Experience in reading and interpreting construction specifications, drawings, and documents in a construction environment.
• Experience in measuring quantities in the construction environment and properly filling out inspection reports.
• Experience with simultaneously inspecting multiple projects
• Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes

SKILLS:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Advanced knowledge of arithmetic. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new computer skills.
