Job Description
Title: Bartender

Reports to: Bar Manager
Starting Wage: $5.00
Job summary
Serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests.
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or though the exercise of sound, reasonable judgment and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities.
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.
Summary of essential job functions
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
- Responsible for the maintaining of stock, cutting and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to insure product quality
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promoting and documenting drink orders
- Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest to maintain accountability of all beverages served
- Educational/Experience Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Some Bartending experience or education required
- Ability to obtain a TABC certification
- Abilities Required
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes
- Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods of time
