What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outlets Restaurant Supervisor position at Overton Hotel and Conference Center?
To assist in the effective supervision and direction of restaurant operations in reference to quality service, supervision of employees, monitor quality and consistency of food production, cost control, and inventory.
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or though the exercise of sound, reasonable judgment and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities.
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.
Summary of essential job functions
1. Assist Manager in the direction and supervision of food servers, bartenders, room service, and other staff in reference to schedules, service standards, training, motivation, and safety
2. Assist in ensuring that restaurant complies with sanitation and safety standards for guests and employees
3. Check to ensure that all equipment is in working order
4. Visually inspect and take action to ensure that facilities in restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests
5. Follow up on work orders so repairs and maintenance of facility are completed on a timely basis
6. Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction in restaurant
7. Ensure that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications
8. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in the restaurant
9. Document inventory forecast usage and monitor supply so that restaurants are stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments, in order to provide quality service
10. Interact with guests to determine needs, satisfaction, and resolve conflicts
Educational/Experience Requirements
1. High school diploma required
2. Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred
3. One to three years experience of restaurant operations
4. Ability to obtain any government required license or certification
5. Knowledge of beverage operations and wines
Abilities Required
1. Excellent mathematical abilities in order to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue productions, and other hotel financial statements
2. Ability to work entire shift standing and moving about in the restaurant and kitchen area
3. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English in order to understand internal documents, reports, and to effectively interact with guests and employees
4. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts
