The Data Center Systems Manager will oversee large teams on highly technical projects, focusing on managing critical systems such as mechanical, electrical, alarms, controls, containment, communications, and conveyance. This role requires collaboration with clients, consultants, trade partners, and team members to deliver high-quality results.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Extensive experience in construction project management.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, building controls, and communication systems.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and guidelines related to construction and commissioning.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, clients, and commissioning agents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management software.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

- Leadership & Team Management
- Develop and implement management plans, schedules, and procedures.
- Build, guide, and develop construction teams for critical systems scopes of work.
- Foster team contributions and individual development.
- Hold team members accountable for delivering high-quality results.
- Critical Systems Oversight
- Manage planning, design, and construction processes for critical systems.
- Oversee key technical aspects, including risk management and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure quality control and technical accuracy.
- Transition projects from construction to operations seamlessly.
- Client & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and consultants.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders about project progress, constraints, and solutions.
- Project Administration & Risk Management
- Understand and manage prime contracts and subcontract agreements.
- Negotiate and oversee subcontractor modifications to mitigate risk.
- Document all changes to contract documents and communicate potential issues.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce safety standards to ensure a secure working environment.
- Ensure compliance with contractual and procedural requirements.
- Scheduling & Monitoring
- Develop and maintain project schedules, proactively addressing constraints.
- Coordinate with teams to meet schedule milestones and recover delays.
- Project Closeout
- Manage all aspects of the project closeout process, ensuring a smooth handoff to operations.
