Opportunity :
The Ovid-Elsie Area Schools has an opening for a Junior Varsity Baseball Coach. The baseball team competes in the MMAC and is a member of the Michigan High School Athletic Association. OEAS takes pride in student-athlete participation and the development of high levels of performance, accountability and responsibility in the classroom and on the playing fields.
Job Description :
A coach must demonstrate strong leadership in player and staff development, sportsmanship, integrity and character. Qualified candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills. They must demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the skills and strategies of the sport of baseball as it pertains to interscholastic athletics.
Responsibilities :
- Annual rules education, CPR Certification, and adhering to all MHSAA guidelines.
- Select, instruct, and coach the team through the season at practices and contests
- Create a positive learning experience for all members of the team
- Establish a summer competition and camp schedule.
- Establish a summer strength and conditioning schedule
- Maintain all records, statistics, and awards information
- Maintain ongoing communication with players and parents
