Position Title : Long-Term Substitute – 8th Grade Language Arts
Assignment Location : Middle School
Duration : April 7, 2025 until June 6, 2025 (9 weeks)
Job Summary :
Ovid-Elsie Middle School is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the position of Long-Term Substitute for 8th Grade Language Arts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching and engaging students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The substitute will work closely with the department and school leadership to ensure continuity of instruction during the absence of the regular teacher.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver instruction based on the 8th grade Language Arts curriculum, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language development.
- Instruct students according to plans prepared by the absent teacher.
- Assigns work according to plans prepared by the absent teacher.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular assignment, test, and evaluations.
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the academic success of all students.
- Maintains an awareness of and complies with district policy, administrative rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
