Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Dispensing:
- Accurately and efficiently fill prescriptions, ensuring that all medications meet the prescribed dosage, quantity, and instructions.
- Review prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, allergies, and any other potential concerns.
- Provide proper labeling of medications and instructions for use.
- Patient Counseling and Education:
- Offer counseling to patients regarding proper medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions with other drugs or foods.
- Answer any patient queries related to their medications, including over-the-counter products and health supplements.
- Educate patients on lifestyle changes and healthy habits that support their medication regimen.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Providers:
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers regarding prescription-related issues, such as therapeutic alternatives or dosage adjustments.
- Assist in creating and reviewing patient medication profiles to ensure optimal drug therapy.
- Medication Management:
- Monitor patient medication regimens to identify and resolve any medication-related problems.
- Ensure that patients are adhering to their prescribed treatments and provide solutions to overcome non-compliance.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee the pharmacy's inventory, ensuring that medications are stocked, stored, and dispensed properly.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely reordering of medications and supplies.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all activities adhere to federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding the dispensing of medications.
- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription documentation.
- Patient Safety:
- Work to ensure the safety and well-being of patients by identifying and preventing potential medication errors or adverse drug reactions.
- Participate in continuing education programs to stay current with new medications, treatments, and regulations.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication profiles and other required documentation.

Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited pharmacy school.
- Active state licensure as a pharmacist.

- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in outpatient or retail pharmacy.
- Experience with patient counseling and medication therapy management.
Working Conditions:
- Work in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Regular hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8-5. Thursdays 8-8.
Physical Demands:
- May require standing for long periods, lifting, and other manual tasks related to pharmacy operations.
