We are seeking a skilled and versatile Engineering Technician with expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the design, prototyping, assembly, and troubleshooting of electromechanical products. This position requires a hands-on professional with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to ensuring operational excellence.
General Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
- Prototyping & Testing:
- Assist engineering with development, fabrication/assembly and testing of component parts and sub-assemblies for use in product development.
- Build, modify, and test prototypes, fixtures, and equipment.
- Conduct unit testing of mechanical and electrical systems to ensure quality and functionality.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
- Perform root cause analysis to diagnose malfunctions in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, schematics, and software to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed records of tests, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Interpret, update and draft technical drawings, work instructions, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and other disciplines to meet project deadlines.
- Provide technical support for the integration of mechanical and electrical components in new designs.
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent in Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in both mechanical and electrical systems, ideally in prototyping, manufacturing, automation, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles (e.g., pneumatics) and electrical principles (e.g., circuit design, and PLCs).
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other relevant equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- A self-starter, capable of working with minimal direction.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with CAD software and basic 3D modeling.
- Certification in relevant fields (e.g., soldering)
- Knowledge of safety protocols and standards
Location:
The position is located in Burlington, Vermont and requires the majority of time to be onsite.
Compensation:
The salary range is $70k-$90k for this full-time salaried position, plus benefits including health, dental, and 401k with matching.
