Scentware Laboratory Assistant
Burlington, VT, Full-time
We are looking for a motivated person who is interested in learning about the art and science of smell as well as gaining industry laboratory experience. As a Scentware Laboratory Assistant, you will work closely with the Scentware Team and Product Department to manufacture scentware products, as well as support new product development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with a keen attention to detail and a team player open to a wide variety of tasks.
General Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
- Assemble scent cartridges to quality standards
- Test and record sensory and physical performance
- Perform basic laboratory experiments and keep detailed records
- Track inventory interdepartmentally and to partners and consumers
- Assist with inventory maintenance and organization
- Maintain lab equipment and overall lab cleanliness
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to Lab Safety Standards
Job Requirements:
- Interest in the art and science of smell
- B.S. or B.A. in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, food science, or related field OR 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting
- Proficiency with spreadsheet software (ex: excel or google sheets)
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Can work independently in a fast-paced startup
- Able to distinguish between different scents
- Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail with accuracy
- Strong organization skills
- Strong computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Location:
The position is located in Burlington, Vermont and requires the majority of time to be onsite.
Compensation:
The salary range is $48k-$55k for this full-time salaried position, plus benefits including health, dental, and 401k with matching.
