Lifeguard - Tropic Falls, Full-Time

Full-time Lifeguards are required to work at least 30 hours per week during periods when the park is operating weekends only and at least 40 hours per week during periods when the park is operating daily with a focus on working during park operating hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reliably report to work on time, when scheduled.
• Maintain professional appearance, meeting park uniform and grooming standards.
• Proactively monitor and scan assigned zones of pools and attractions meeting all park and Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguarding standards, maintaining focus on the job at all times.
• Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies according to the park and Jeff Ellis & Associates Emergency Action Plans.
• Professionally communicate and politely enforce park policies.
• Perform and document safety inspections of attractions, features, slides, emergency equipment and other essential elements of the park.
• Assist Guests onto and off/out of water slides and water features.
• Provide outstanding Guest Service according to company standards.
• Maintain a safe, efficient, and inclusive environment for Guests and fellow Team Members.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the park including vacuuming pools, sweeping decks, picking up trash, and keeping work areas neat, clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned by park supervision and management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Project a positive image to fellow Team Members and Guests.
• Obtain and maintain Jeff Ellis and Associates (E&A) Lifeguard Training Program License. Training and licensing to be provided by park once hired.
• Maintain Lifeguard License current through participation in monthly in-service training and upholding Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguarding standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to react well under stressful and emergency situations.
• Available and willing to work during park operating hours on a flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be immersed in water for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions including, extreme heat, cold and rain.
• Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
• Current valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
