Laundromat General Manager

Job Overview: The Laundromat Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundromat, ensuring customer satisfaction, and managing the staff. The manager reports to the laundromat owner. The laundromat always strives to be Clean, Safe, Easy and Fast for the customer. This is a full-time salaried position with a healthcare benefit allowance, paid time off and use of equipment for personal laundry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise the laundromat staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee quality for wash, dry and fold services for customers and perform this service.
• Handle customer service issues, including resolving complaints and addressing concerns.
• Ensure the laundromat is clean and well-maintained, including the machines, floors, counters, rest rooms, storage areas and customer folding areas.
• Provide meaningful, actionable feedback to staff and owner to ensure continuous improvement and clear expectations.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations.
• Manage cash handling and ensure that daily financial records are maintained accurately and securely.
• Maintain equipment operation as needed and arrange for completion of more complex repairs.
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing and service strategies to increase revenue and customer retention.
• Monitor and manage inventory, including ordering and restocking laundry supplies.
• Maintain accurate records, including maintenance records, staff hours, and customer feedback.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Two or four-year degree in business or related field preferred.
• 2 years of experience in team leadership or management, preferably in a retail or service industry setting.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills, with the ability to hire, manage and schedule a work team and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to handle difficult or challenging situations.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and cash handling procedures.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and some holidays as needed.
• Ability to develop a solid technical knowledge of laundry card systems and point of sale systems.
• Desire to grow and learn, and to serve the customers and staff.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend and stoop as needed, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
• Comfortable working in a warm and humid environment.
