Position Summary : The School Age Care Program Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of Owatonna Public Schools / Community Education School Age Care program. The Specialist advocates for and works collaboratively with district and community-based teams to deliver care to children ages 5-12 and their families through school age care as defined by state statute, Board of Education and citizen advisory councils. Primary responsibilities include program and personnel development in School Age Care Programs offered before school, after school, non-school days and summer.
Position Requirements : A minimum of two-year associate degree in youth development, family lif, education, social services involving youth, or customer-service based business is required. Commensurate experience will be considered. Supervisory experience in youth / large group child care programming and working with community agencies in collaborative efforts is preferred.
Language Skills : Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a command of the English language required. Bilingual candidates preferred.
Physical Demands : Ability to lift 25 lbs on occasion.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills across a diverse population, demonstrates the ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts amicably with individuals and organizations; creates an inclusive environment that supports enrichment in a child care setting; perform duties with awareness and adhering to school board policies.
Schedule : 52 weeks per year
8 : 30-5 : 00 pm with one-half hour lunch
Flexbility to adjust work hours to support program functions and subbing needs that may occur outside of stated schedule.
Pay Rate :
B-3-1 / $22.62 - $30.67 per hour depending on experience
