Reliance Equipment is a municipal equipment house serving The State of Texas. We represent the best product lines and are looking for someone to join the team at our new facility in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will perform truck and equipment repairs, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other employees to accomplish the daily tasks.
Our Full Benefits Package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, HSA, and 100% company paid Life and LTD. We have PTO that accrues weekly, seven paid holidays (eligible after 30 days from start), and 401(k) with a company match.
Pay: $25 - $45 per hour.
- Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment
- Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
- Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service van
- Repair a wide variety of municipal type equipment
- Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all specialized heavy-duty components. (On the job training will be provided on specialized equipment.)
- Coordinating and installing custom equipment on new and used refuse trucks.
- Evaluate and refurbish used truck trade-ins.
- Perform DOT inspections.
- Maintain positive interface with location manager, coworkers, parts department and both internal and external customers.
- Perform CCTV equipment repairs and diagnostics.
What would make you a good fit?
- Class B CDL license or the ability to obtain one
- Hydraulic and electrical knowledge / experience
- Strong welding skills are a plus
- Diesel repair skills a plus.
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated, willing to take initiative
- Willingness to expand your knowledge
- Strong attention to detail
- Must have your own general tools
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school or equivalent combination of work and experience.
- Two years mechanical experience preferred
- Two years hydraulic experience preferred
- Two years electrical experience preferred
- One year welding/fabrication preferred
