Your day as an Individual Support Worker

As an Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., you will play a crucial role in providing personalized teaching sessions to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities using applied behavior analysis techniques. Working closely with behavioral therapists, you will assist in creating therapy programs and implementing behavioral interventions in both home and community settings. With supervision and training provided by our experienced coordinators, you will have the opportunity to develop individualized service plans for each child, manage behavioral challenges, and ensure a safe and positive environment for our youth. Your dedication to fostering positive behavior and facilitating meaningful recreational activities will make a significant impact on the lives of the children and adolescents you work with.

To excel as an Individual Support Worker at Owen Health Care Inc., candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of supervised experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching ADL/Instrumental skills to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships with both the children and their families. The ability to work independently while following established protocols and guidelines is crucial for successful implementation of behavioral therapy programs.
