- Build trust and confidence with students.
- Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and instruction.
- Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.
- Monitor student progress in regular and special education classes.
- Instruct individuals and groups based on the IEP goals and objectives.
- Assist with the modification of curriculum.
- Maintain on-going contact with parents.
- Evaluate student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
- Prepare appropriate paper work, including report cards, educational records, IEP forms, and classroom observation records.
- Participate in periodic special education committee meetings.
- Administer educational evaluation instruments.
- Supervise students and classroom and child specific aides.

- Bachelor's Degree.
- Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification.
- Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.
- Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; to plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students.
- Well organized with good time management skills.
- Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Submission of PA School Personnel Health form or on file.
- Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances or on file.
- Compensation for these temporary, part-time positions is set at the individual's hourly rate.
- There is no additional compensation or fringe benefits for this activity.
