Owen Steel Company is currently recruiting a QC Paint Inspector with 3-5 years of experience in a structural steel fabrication environment. Safety is always first, applicants must be able to work safely and professionally. In this role, a successful applicant will have a strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and complex coating systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct paint inspections.
- Conduct material verification, environmental compliance checks, and dry film thickness readings.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings for fabrication verification and documentation.
- Interface effectively with customer QC representatives.
- Complete reports for all testing and inspections performed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in a structural steel fabrication environment.
- AMMP Certified Paint Inspector Level 1
- Familiarity with welding processes.
- Proficiency in reading fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of fabrication and coating codes (SSPC Volume 1 and 2).
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and customer QC representatives.
- Ability to work safely and professionally.
