What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Owen Thomas Group?
An MEP consulting client of ours are currently seeking 2 Electrical Engineers in ranging from mid to senior level for projects in the commercial high-rise, medical, and higher education sectors.
Responsibilities -
- Design power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunications plans including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
- Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash & fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design.
- Prepare electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings (in retail, office, multifamily residential, healthcare, and institutional market sectors).
- Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
- Ensure design is consistent with the overall vision, and design schedules are maintained; work closely with the client and other design team members, including owners, architects, contractors, and members of other disciplines.
- Participate in the selection and specification of appropriate equipment for use in building systems.
- Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings.
Qualifications -
- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year institution.
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in designing electrical systems for commercial/institutional building projects.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Previous electrical design experience with an AE and/or MEP engineering consulting firm.
- Strong fundamental understanding of the National Electric Code, and the International Building Codes.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and a demonstrated capability for analysis and strategic thinking.
- Strong initiative—the willingness and ability to succeed in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
