Role description:
As a Senior Data Center Power Distribution Engineer you will lead the electrical discipline of multiple concurrent data center projects through pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases. You will be responsible for leading design efforts, serve as the engineer of record, and teach other electrical staff specifics of data center electrical design. You will also support proposal and business development efforts, working with project teams, other senior and junior engineers, project managers, and clients designing power distribution, lighting, telecom and fire alarm systems on various projects.
Role accountabilities:
- Inter-discipline knowledge of data center facility systems, with primary expertise in electrical design for data centers.
- Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination.
- Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
- Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members.
- Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN.
- Fluency in design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power).
- Perform various system studies (arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination). Experience developing solutions to complex projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Consulting engineering design experience producing IFC drawings for data centers.
- BS in electrical engineering or equivalent. 10 years of relevant experience in engineering
- State-issued professional engineering license.
- Experience with telecom and fire alarm design including prescriptive, performance-based design as well as full detailed design.
- Lean design and construction experience. LEED accredited professional. PMP certification
Salary : $140,000 - $180,000
