Senior Engineer – Municipal Wastewater and Water Systems

Owen & White Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing and executing wastewater and potable water projects for municipalities, with a focus on wastewater treatment, pumping, transmission, and collection. This role involves leading, advising, and mentoring our engineering staff, as well as managing and performing engineering duties, including permitting and construction management on various new and ongoing design and construction projects.
The successful candidate will also have expertise in underground utility design, including water distribution and wastewater transmission and collection systems, hydraulic modeling, an understanding of water and wastewater systems, and strong experience in utility relocation design.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and oversee the planning, design, and execution of water and waste water projects.
· Perform engineering design duties to produce detailed plans and specifications.
· Create bid packages to assist in the bid phase of projects.
· Conduct shop drawing review and continue a project through construction close-out.
· Mentor and advise engineering staff on technical engineering decisions and project management.
· Coordinate and build strong relationships with clients to manage their project and develop new opportunities.
Required Qualifications
· A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
· Registered professional engineer (PE) in the State of Louisiana and/or Texas, Mississippi, or Tennessee or with the ability to obtain a professional license within a prescribed time.
· 7 years of experience in the field of water and wastewater management, particularly with municipal projects.
· Ability to manage small to medium-sized projects effectively.
· Understanding of closed pipe network hydraulics.
· Municipal project experience.
· Advanced understanding of water and wastewater systems including pumps, storage, transmission, water treatment, etc.
Position details
· This is a salaried, hybrid in-office/work-from-home position based in Baton Rouge, LA.
· The candidate must be able to work in a small office environment with the occasional out-of-office site visits and client meetings.

Salary : $135,000 - $180,000
