MORE ABOUT THE POSITION:
Our organization has six locations across Nebraska in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Columbus, Norfolk and S. Sioux City and all six office are continuing to expand and adding new team members who want to be part of our mission to help children and families.
Our Family Support/Visitation Specialists work hand-in-hand with Child Protective Services. As a TEAM (CPS, Owens, Youth, Parents, School System, etc) we work together to bring out the best in every family we serve.
Our Team Members are hands on with excellent outcomes because we truly believe every child and family deserves the opportunity to thrive with the support of a dependable advocate to help them pave the way.
This position is not Monday through Friday or 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Our work weeks are Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday for full-time team members. The position requires evenings and weekends and a lot of flexibility to meet families at their time of need.
DUTIES
- Conduct face to face sessions and home visits
- Develop and maintain helping relationships emphasizing youth and family accountability
- Provide objective written documentation of the family's compliance/non-compliance with court ordered requirements.
- Complete required documentation, including discharge information, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Enter data and reports promptly into agency portals.
- Notify supervisor and Referral Source immediately in the event of a crisis or program incident
- Regular and punctual attendance at all appointments
- Participate in weekly supervision and monthly case staffings to discuss case progress.
- Work collaboratively with team members and willing to help out others when needed
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with families at all times.
- Understand and respect client confidentiality
- Attend mandatory trainings
- Possess a spirit of flexibility
- Seek supervision when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in the Human Services Field and/or Equivalent Work, Education & Life Experience.
Own reliable vehicle with a clear driving record (no more than 3 points assessed against your license). Travel to and from appointments is required. Minimum insurance requirement of 100/300 coverage limits.
Ability to pass a thorough background check including but not limited to:
- Local, State and National Criminal History
- Adult/Child Abuse Registry
- National Sex Offender Registry
- Educational & Work Verification
- Driver's License Check
- Drug Screen
Ability to work non-traditional hours and days. Our organization is open 7 days per week and team members must have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends and respond to crisis situations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
CPR/First-Aide Certified
Ability to type at least 55 wpm and excellent computer skills.
Ability to secure and maintain throughout employment at least one booster car seat and one five-point car seat.
Passionate, objective and non-judgmental disposition.
Both Full-time and Part-time positions require at least one weekend day. Our workweeks are Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday (or any combination thereof as long as one or more full weekend day(s) is part of the schedule).

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
