Performs all tasks related to custodial duties.
This position includes a $.30 shift differential.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a thorough cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and dusting as needed or required throughout assigned area.
- Ensures that assigned areas are properly maintained and restrooms are cleaned and stocked with towels and tissue, and facilities issues in need of attention are reported.
- Picks up trash by emptying wastebaskets and taking refuse to assigned outside work area. Does light lifting.
- Cleans windows and removes soil from walls and furniture.
- Performs other related custodial tasks as required.
- Performs seasonal duties (i.e. snow removal and salting).
- Moves furniture, sets up chairs and equipment for special events
- Must possess a valid drivers license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of custodial processes and procedures.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment including but not limited to floor buffer, walk behind scrubber, carpet extractor, mop and bucket.
- Ability to take and understand verbal instructions.
- Required to legally operate a motor vehicle.
- Should be able to work independently and be able to maintain good rapport with constituents and co-workers.
- Should be team oriented and professional in approach to detail-oriented tasks.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- One-year related experience in custodial cleaning and knowledge of use of custodial equipment in a commercial environment.
- Must have valid driver's license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
