Advertised Position Title : Facilities Specialist II (Findlay) Job Description :
This position is an entry level facilities maintenance position. The duties include minor repairs, seasonal duties (snow / ice removal, landscaping, mowing, etc.), event set-ups and tear downs, monitoring of restrooms, work orders, and ability to work in conjunction with the facilities team.
Essential Functions :
Performs minor repairs and maintenance in electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other building systems (replaces parts, light ballasts, flush valves, faucets, drains, etc.)
Performs seasonal duties (i.e. lawn mowing, trimming, bed maintenance and general landscaping as well as snow removal and salting)
Completes jobs related to maintenance work on a daily basis (i.e. work orders) as requested by the Supervisor.
Cleans buildings and grounds as needed / assigned, for the purpose of providing an effective working / learning environment (includes monitoring restroom cleaning and supplies).
Set-up / tear down special events (move furniture, sets up tables / chairs and equipment). Other duties as assigned.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain insurability through the College's insurance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Position requires knowledge of building maintenance and repairs acquired through at least 24 months of experience.
Perform assigned maintenance and repair tasks in a professional and dependable manner following safe work practices. May assist Supervisor.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as caulking, painting, etc.
Must have the physical ability to lift materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
Must have the ability to use power tools and other job related equipment.
Must be professional in approach to responsibilities and show good judgment in decision making.
Should be team oriented, showing initiative and a good work ethic.
Minimum Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
