What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saw Operator position at Owens Corning Reinforcement Solutions LLC?
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Saw Operator is responsible for safely operating various types of saws and cutting machinery to cut GFRP rebar to specific sizes and specifications. This role involves ensuring that all cuts are precise, product is handled properly, and production goals are met. Saw Operators must also maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and work effectively as part of a team.
Reports to: Operations Supervisor
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up both auto saw and chop saw to cut materials as per work orders and/or blueprints.
- Ensure correct machine settings based on cutting requirements
- Monitor saw/auto saw performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise during operations.
- Load and unload GFRP rebar onto the saw/auto saw ensuring they are properly aligned and secure
- Inspect GFRP rebar for defects or imperfections before cutting.
- Measure and mark rebar to ensure cuts are accurate and meet specifications.
- Follow all Mateenbar safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe workplace
- Wear all necessary protective gear.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in manufacturing
- Attention to detail
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time
- Understand safety procedures and proper equipment handling

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive communications and data
- Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision and guidance
