Director, Project Management Office
The Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) plays a pivotal role in the success of Owens Corning's Global Capital Delivery function.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic planning: Define project management methodologies and lead portfolio execution planning and project governance.
- Drive Business Impact: Drive capital effectiveness for the project portfolio using internal and external benchmarking. Provide actionable insights to peers and management.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate successful project execution.
Talent Management
- Direct the PMO, overseeing a team of 30 professionals, including project managers, cost estimators, project controllers, and safety managers.
- Mentor and coach PMO staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to promote professional growth and enhance team performance.
Project Execution Driving Competitive Results
- Project Alignment: Align project objectives with the company's strategic goals. Prioritize and organize a diverse range of capital projects, efficiently allocating resources to meet deadlines.
- Project Delivery: Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
- Project Status: Manage, monitor, evaluate, and report on project performance.
Governance, Management Systems & Metrics
- Project Governance: Oversee project portfolio governance, team leadership, tracking, monitoring, prioritization, communication, and quality controls.
- Project Management Processes & Performance Management: Develop, implement, and govern program management processes, tools, templates, policies, and metrics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in capital project management.
- Leadership and strategic management skills to develop, coach, and direct the performance of a team.
- Proven experience in project management, particularly with capital projects.
- Strong understanding of project performance management systems and benchmarking.
- Executive presence with which to interact and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Skill to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing to convey complex concepts.
