Hourly Rate: $32 - $36

Sign-On Bonus

• $1500.00 Sign On Bonus after 90 days
• $1500.00 after 180 days

Schedule

• 3 days on; 4 days off; 4 days on; 3 days off
• Hours: 6p-6a (Night Shift)
• Overtime as required

• The Owens Corning Rockford IL is a premier manufacturing facility that manufactures extruded polystyrene foam board insulation for primary use in the construction industry.
• Non-union plant employing about 70 employees across 4 shifts; Maintenance team consists of 10 employees.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine planned and breakdown maintenance activities on shift.This person must be able to work independently. Must have a willingness to take initiative. Must be self-motivated and empowered to improve their skill sets. Have a high level of teamwork capability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the process, process equipment, controls, and spare parts
• Develop troubleshooting skills and techniques for the equipment and controls
• Perform routine and nonroutine industrial maintenance tasks
• Utilize our computer maintenance management system (SAP) to maintain and enter documentation from all work orders
• Learn and comply with all Owens Corning safety policies along with all other plant rules
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area that is in compliance with 5S standards
• Maintain high level of attendance
• All other duties as assigned or needed

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
• Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Must have the ability to multi-task and must have a critical eye for inspections

• Must have strong internal and external customer service skills

• Must work well in team environment
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
• Efficient in execution and prioritization of multiple tasks
• Above average troubleshooting of mechanical equipment in an industrial environment
• Understanding, experience, and troubleshooting capabilities with industrial electrical
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude in an industrial environment

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 year's experience in an industrial maintenance position
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
• Schooling and certifications in maintenance /electronics related field is preferred
• Willingness-to-learn-more attitude through developed work habits, machine instruction
• booklets, self-taught skills courses, and outside educational programs
• Industrial mechanical experience and knowledge (bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, chain drives, etc.)

Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
• Work up to 12 hours in hot/cold manufacturing environment
• Walk/stand on concrete floor continuously for up to 12 hours
• Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - steel-toed shoes, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) hearing protection and long-sleeved shirt (with shirt tail tucked in) as necessary for task
