The Owens Corning Rockford IL is a premier manufacturing facility that manufactures extruded polystyrene foam board insulation for primary use in the construction industry.

In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all Owens Corning employees are expected to conform to the following :
Perform quality work with or without direct supervision.Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.Interact professionally with other employees, suppliers, and customers.Perform tasks and duties with a mind toward safety for not only yourself but also those around you.This position works in partnership with plant leadership, TPM pillars, and all workforce teams to develop and execute Training and Development (T&D) plans that drive business results. The candidate will support T&D and AM pillars, create and review SWS, OPLs, and other relevant training documents. This position will track training progress and KAI's. This position will report on monthly KPI's and implement strategies for continuous improvement. This is an essential role as the plant seeks to strengthen the skillsets and core competencies of all employees.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Development of EmployeesSupport and track job advancement trainingEngage in tech level assessments and progressionAssist with training new employees in TPM MethodologiesCoordinate and plan tech level progression and cross training activity for employeesUtilize loss trees to identify, create, and lead training opportunities and improvement eventsTraining StandardsMaintain training records and cross training matricesSupport and execute gap closure plans based on skills gap analysisGuide and assist in the development of training and assessment modelsGather and report on training metrics and take proactive action on data trendsTrain employees on the creation of one-point lessons (OPL) and standard workUpdate, modify, and / or create training materials leveraging input from subject matter expertsCreate a data driven process to effectively track training, T&D KAIs / KPIs and knowledge gapsTeam SupportParticipate in continuous improvement eventsSupport TPM teams on implementation of TPMEngage with night shifts and different departmentsAttend / lead meetings and huddles to support key initiativesAttend TPM Team Meetings and be a visible resource on the floorShadow the various machines / roles to gain knowledge of plant processesParticipate in safety and 5S programs as established within the plant and work areasSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have strong attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsWillingness to work flexible hours as needed (days / nights / weekends)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and WordAbility to read and understand Technical Manuals and Specification SheetsSelf-motivated and able to work independently and in a group to meet deadlinesHas led projects with define deliverables and met those deliverables on scheduleIn past work experiences has demonstrated the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on commitmentsEDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following :
High School Diploma or GED equivalentStrong coaching / relationship building skills.Has previous experience conducting training1-3 years of Manufacturing experience is preferredPrior experience with TPM Methodology and processes preferred2 years previous experience in training, continuous improvement and / or in creating standard workESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
