We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Dental Office Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience while providing essential administrative support to the dental office. This role requires excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding office services, scheduling, insurance, and billing.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar.
- Verify patient information and update records as needed.
- Ensure the smooth flow of patients from arrival to treatment by assisting with patient check-out and follow-up appointments.
- Process patient payments, including co-pays and insurance claims, and assist with billing inquiries.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare and manage patient charts, ensuring all necessary documentation is up to date.
- Assist with insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Handle office administrative duties, such as filing, faxing, light housekeeping and ordering office supplies.
- Coordinate with dental assistants, hygienists, and the dentist to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
- Perform other tasks as required to support office operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in office administration or healthcare is a bonus.
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a dental or medical office setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, billing, and coding is a plus.
- Candidate will need to obtain child abuse clearance as well as criminal background checks.
