Shift: Monday - Friday, 5:30am start, plus mandatory overtime
Job Summary
Leads and coordinates activities of teammates engaged in outbound order shipping, putting away, replenishing inventory, cycle counting, etc. You will be utilizing warehouse machinery such as forklifts, cherry pickers, electric pallet jacks, etc.
Core Responsibilities
- Assigns job functions to teammates according to shipping schedules and operational
Demands
- Helps organize and prioritize the daily activities of the Shipping and Distribution areas
- Trains or ensures the training of new teammates or retrains existing teammates in job functions.
- Studies production schedules and estimates teammate-hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets specifications and job orders to teammates and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, quality of product, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency of the warehouse.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists teammates in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate teammates to achieve work goals.
- Provides regular feedback to supervisors and managers on teammate performance. May provide input for annual reviews.
- Communicates with supervisors and or management team regarding personnel issues and day to day operations.
- Regularly conducts team talks or start up meetings in conjunction with supervisors.
- Assists in coordinating activities of the department in an effort to minimize
disruptions to the efficient shipping of products
Qualifying Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Experience in warehouse leadership required. Experience managing a team of 15-30 employees preferred.
- Material Handling equipment experience required, i.e. stand up forklift, order picker, or cherry picker.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products required. Experience with Pivot Tables, Business Objects, or WMS preferred
- Strong Analytical Skills
