Summary
Plans, directs and implements interface testing for the deployment of new interfaces or upgrades. Has detailed understanding and experience in a variety of technology applications. Provides robust and consistent communication between customers, technology integration managers, technology integration developers, and implementation project managers on testing status. Working knowledge of Owens & Minor’s technology brands: QSight, QPar/PANDAC, Preferred Access and Implant Purchase Management (IPM) is preferred.
Understands and implements common interface standards, system-specific guidelines and development methodologies based on best practices.
Oversees end-to-end testing of interface architecture and data definitions.
A wide degree of creativity, ability to take initiative and discipline to work independently is required.
Candidate must possess the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
Builds productive working relationships. Coordinating efforts between multiple parties.
Works on problems of easy to moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Should consult with higher level staff members while learning support duties. Developing professional expertise, applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
Responsible for providing support in delivery of interface development, testing during technology implementations and relaying technical requirements to developers assigned to projects. Works on projects and project-initiatives as assigned by leadership.
Incumbents are still directed in several aspects of their work. However, more routine and straight forward tasks are accomplished without assistance. Still requires direction but will have the education and basic skills required to do basic job tasks.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall testing for multiple technology applications, including QSight, IPM, PANDAC, Preferred Access and Surgitrack.
- Performs interface testing according to the success criteria that is established by the customer.
- Responsible for documenting test results in accordance with interface specifications set forth.
- Routinely coordinates efforts with customer interface, implementation and other vendor system teammates. Responds to customer requests to troubleshoot interface technology issues after go-live. May be responsible for slight configuration adjustments to aid in the speedy resolution of interfacing issues.
- Interface discovery and specification: Updates interface-specific documentation that publicizes technical requirements between technology teams.
- Technical expert: Provides robust technical description of systems capabilities in partnership with sales directors and implementation team.
- Strategic interface comprehension: Must thoroughly understand interfacing best practices and provide exhaustive description of system capabilities in meetings and presentations.
Qualifying Experience
- Four-year undergraduate degree in a related technical field
- 2 – 5 years in IT field preferred.
- 2 – 5 years performing interface testing and validation.
- 2 – 5 years assisting in the development of interfaces is preferred.
- Demonstrates understanding of healthcare logistics.
- Demonstrates an understanding of technology needs in a healthcare environment.
