What are the responsibilities and job description for the Language Arts Teacher Middle School 25-26 Year position at Owensboro Catholic Schools?
Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking applicants for a full-time Language Arts teacher at OCMS. The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has a Language Arts Education degree and has a passion for teaching adolescents. Essential Job Functions
- Provide daily Language Arts instruction for students in grades 7 and 8
- Use best practices to provide effective instruction and positive, consistent classroom management.
- Communicate with students, parents, and other stakeholders in a professional and positive manner
- Function as a cooperative, productive team member at OCMS
- Support and uphold the philosophy and mission of the Catholic Church and the Owensboro Catholic School System.
- Chair/Co-chair an extra-curricular club or student organization
Requirements and qualifications:
Have a passion for teaching adolescents
Language Arts Education degree or teaching experience with the ability to pass the middle school Language Arts subject exam
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Must be self-motivated and self-directed with precise attention to detail
Goal-oriented, organized team player with a positive attitude
Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required
The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted
