Owensboro Catholic Schools is accepting applications for the position of Principal at Owensboro Catholic 4-6 Campus, in Owensboro, KY. The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who has a master’s degree and has a passion for teaching.
Qualifications:
- The principal position requires a regular Kentucky Principal’s Certificate, a master’s degree with Principal endorsement and/or be working toward a principal’s certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of teaching.
- Have demonstrated leadership ability in past or present educational assignments
- Be able to articulate and promote a vision of Catholic education
- Must have appropriate control and discipline techniques, which will enhance the learning environment.
- Have the capacity, enthusiasm, and intelligence to inspire teachers, students, parents, and the community
- Be highly motivating
- Have strong interpersonal skills
Purpose of Position: The principal is responsible for the leadership, administration, and implementation of the school's curriculum and instructional program in accordance with the school's mission, including enhancing the Catholic identity of the school, the establishment of the professional development program for the instructional staff, the guidance program, student activities, athletics, instructional technology, student discipline, and the general operation of the building.
The successful candidate must pass criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted.
