- Job Summary
- Provides nursing leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of thehealthcare organization.
Training is provided relevant to the population served, based on scope of care of theservice assignment.

- Job Responsibilities
- Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
- Responds to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition asappropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provide education based on age, culture, and willingnessto learn.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- Leadership Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains a work environment that is aligned with the organizationï ½s goals and strategies, demonstrating a unified voice and consistent message from leadership;
actively supports all organizational policies and procedures in communications and interactions with staff and peers.
- Education
- Associate's degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master'sdegree in Nursing required by June 8, 2019.
- Licensure / Certification / Registration
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. Eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required.Certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider required within 30 days of employment in thisposition.
Valid driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Work Experience
- 3 years progressive experience in a related field and / or a leadership role required.
- Skills and Attributes
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must beable to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
