FUNCTION

The Food and Beverage Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing sales transactions in the food and beverage outlets. This role ensures efficient cash handling, maintains cleanliness in the work area, and supports overall guest satisfaction. The Food and Beverage Cashier works closely with other team members to create a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for guests.

 SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transaction Processing: Accurately process customer payments, including cash, credit cards, vouchers, and comp points, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
  • Customer Service: Greet guests warmly, answer questions about menu items or promotions, and provide assistance to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Cash Handling: Handle all monetary transactions securely and efficiently, balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Order Coordination: Work closely with food and beverage staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of guest orders.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including the cashier station and surrounding areas.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to food safety and responsible alcohol service.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve guest concerns or escalate issues to the Food and Beverage Supervisor when necessary.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Keep track of supplies and notify the supervisor of any shortages or needed replenishments.
  • Promotion Awareness: Stay informed about current promotions, discounts, and special events to effectively assist guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Consistent delivery of friendly and professional customer service.
  • Accuracy in handling transactions and maintaining financial accountability.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in cashiering, food service, or a similar customer service role.
  • Basic math skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations is a plus.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

The employee is regularly required to stand, speak, hear, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to sit. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, color and depth perception, and peripheral vision. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds. When working in the office, the noise level is moderately quiet.  When on the gaming floor, the noise level may be loud, and the employee will possibly be exposed to cigarette smoke on the gaming floor.
