Function
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Surveillance policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring all personnel comply with the KHRC and applicable federal and state laws.
- Assign work schedules and evaluate employee performance.
- Oversee training and development programs for staff.
- Ensure the smooth operation of administrative functions during Surveillance shifts.
- Review and investigate incidents of illegal activity, providing expert recommendations to other departments.
- Operate video/audio surveillance equipment to monitor property activities across multiple screens.
- Monitor monetary transactions and stations, documenting any procedural inconsistencies.
- Prepare and maintain official logs of departmental activities.
- Maintain radio communication with security personnel, managers, and other surveillance staff as assigned.
- Adhere to the established operational chain of command and contribute positively to it.
- Compile incident reports for future reference and documentation.
- Evaluate existing gaming policies and procedures, recommending improvements while maintaining confidentiality.
- Follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
- Maintain constant alertness to rapidly changing monitoring conditions.
- Make quick decisions under pressure.
- Draft written reports and documentation, conveying quality Surveillance reports to appropriate parties.
- Visually observe and assess screen images, making recommendations as needed.
- Be open to change and willing to embrace challenges with a team-oriented approach.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding duties, reports, investigations, and job-related information.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment; treat coworkers with kindness and respect.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of services and amenities, providing accurate information to guests regarding promotions and events.

Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Attend required training sessions.
- Obtain and maintain necessary licenses.
- Comply with local laws and regulations in all duties performed.
- Ensure minors are not permitted to gamble, drink alcohol, or purchase tobacco.
- Understand the ordinances, regulations, and procedures relevant to the department.
- Be knowledgeable about programs addressing problem gaming.
- Report any known wrongdoing.
Education, Training, and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of surveillance leadership experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a KHRGC license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage crowds effectively.
- Proficient in computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Basic knowledge or training in investigations.
- Ability to communicate via two-way radio.
- Capacity to sit for long periods.
- Work environment may involve viewing video monitors in low light.
- Able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Flexible schedule, including some holidays and weekends.
