Summary
Job Summary
Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms (EKGs), monitor placement (Holter, event, and mobile telemetry) and stress testing providing patient education associated with studies.
Job Responsibilities
- Attaches electrode leads to proper body areas based on ordered tests. Prepares skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
- Obtains and documents EKG readings as directed.
- Programs monitors and registers patients on-line depending on the ordered monitor.
- Monitors patients during procedures and reports any abnormal findings. Identifies and corrects artifacts.
- Notes and forwards results to physicians for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Monitor and process EKGs in the EKG software and the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
- No experience required
- BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
