Summary
Job Summary
Provides the leadership and direction necessary to conceptualize and implement activities throughout the organization. Oversees the Human Resource Development areas (Recruitment & Retention, Employee/Labor Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development, HRIS, Organizational Development), Recognition, Engagement, Team Member Wellness, and other areas consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plans established by the President/CEO, the Executive Management Staff, and the Board of Directors. Responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as a member of the system executive team and participates in development of the organization's vision, policies, and short/long-term objectives.
- Functions as a key partner and advisor to the President & CEO and the senior leaders.
- Monitors operating budgets for all areas of responsibility.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and recommends cost-effective and efficient solutions.
- Monitors internal/external healthcare environment to ensure the organization is proactive and maintains competitive policies and practices
- Provides visionary and instructional leadership system-wide to resolve employee issues and promotes consistent practices and principles.
- Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and industry regulations regarding employment practices, including HIPAA, OSHA, and ADA.
- Oversees initiatives to promote employee satisfaction, morale, and engagement through open communication, recognition programs, and well-being initiatives.
- Oversees the hospital's compensation structure, benefits packages, and performance-based incentive programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Oversees training and development programs to enhance employee skills, promote career progression, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Participates in the development of strategic initiatives that support the system's goals and objectives.
- Establishes, monitors, and anticipates human resource metrics/trends and proactively develops/ adapts/ implements solutions.
- Develops strategies and programs to create a positive work environment that will allow the organization to attract and retain employees.
- Oversees staff to ensure all functional areas are staffed appropriately and meet the needs of the organization.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
- Master's degree or higher in Healthcare Administration required upon hire OR
- Master's degree or higher in Organizational Communications required upon hire OR
- Master's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in senior HR leadership required
- 5 years' relevant experience in senior HR leadership in a healthcare/hospital system environment preferred
- No licensure/certification/registration required
