What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift** Machine Operator position at Ox Bodies, Subsidiary of Federal Signal?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operators steel fabrication equipment (brake press, shear, drill press and saws)
- Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
- Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies and work in process by hand or truck.
- Attaches rope or grappling equipment to work pieces to prepare work for moving by crane.
- Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
- Picks up and trucks scrap from work area.
- Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment.
- Performs other routine duties.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Follow safety procedures; including but not limited to, wearing proper PPE.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Must have experience running a press break, shear, drill press and saw.
- Preferred: Basic mechanical and tools (wrench, screwdriver, drills, etc.) knowledge.
- Skills: Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and read and comprehend work order specifications.
- Other: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb onto chassis. Must be able to stand for 10 hours. Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
