What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Specialist position at Ox Bodies?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- 80/20 Initiative leader; to include all 80/20 training and presentations.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the company’s product line.
- Product Line Simplification projects that drive standard configurations in body specifications and configuration details.
- Manage Driveworks / Certusoft configurator content; to include breadth of offering, option pricing, and strategic additions to add high volume option requests.
- Margin analysis – provide analysis and estimates to management stakeholders that require it – provide detailed margin analysis for potential high-volume opportunities.
- Monthly margin audit and provide commentary.
- Assist with product development and enhancements.
- New fleet project scoping and cost analysis, and presentation materials for fleet opportunities.
- Review all custom features and make build determinations based on lean initiatives.
- Review and establish all pricing, including non-configurator products and obsolete inventory.
- Sales Engineer – consult with TMs and inside sales about product configurations and applications.
- Work with sales to develop guided-selling techniques and review new specs and opportunities.
- Collaborate with Marketing to maintain and create new content such as website maintenance and product brochures. Assist in the creation of promotional materials and product marketing strategies.
- Maintain Statement-of-Line documentation.
- Special project CAD work – such as layout scenarios for improved production flow.
- Participate in Engineering ideation projects.
- Represent Ox, along with Engineering Manager, on TBEI component consolidation and other technical projects to Corporate Engineering
- Assist GM as necessary on product information, sales and margin data, presentations, and other work as needed.
- Assist manufacturing, supply chain, and finance departments as necessary with technical details.
- Conduct product demonstrations or presentations to clients and potential customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or engineering, or 5-7 years’ experience in product management role.
- Experience: Expert in MS Office, ERP systems, heavy industrial or transportation industry, preferred.
- Skills: Ability to perform a market assessment and forecasting. Ability to perform a SWOT analysis of competitors and their related market positions.
Experience
Required- 5 - 7 years: Prior Product management role.
- Prior ERP Systems experience.
- Expert in MS Office, specifically Excel.
- Heavy industrial or Transporation industry.
Education
Required- Bachelor of Engineering or better in Engineering or related field
