POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Landed Cost Analysis:
- Calculate and analyze landed costs, including purchase price, tariffs, freight, customs duties, insurance, and warehousing.
- Assess and track the impact of Incoterms on cost structures.
Shipping & Transportation Cost Tracking:
- Monitor and track shipping costs, including container rates, port fees, and inland transportation.
- Track and evaluate inland transportation costs to major retail partners.
Product Costing & Variance Analysis:
- Ensure accurate costing of products sourced across multiple countries and suppliers.
- Reconcile cost variance and recommend corrective actions.
Financial Modelling & Profitability Assessment:
- Develop financial models to evaluate cost efficiencies and profitability by sku, category, and customer.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings in supply chain while maintaining service levels.
Pricing Strategy Development:
- Develop cost-based pricing models that ensure competitive yet profitable pricing strategies.
- Work closely with sales and leadership to optimize pricing structures for different markets and customer segments.
Discounts & Allowances Management:
- Incorporate rebate structures, promotional allowances, and volume discounts into pricing models.
- Maintain up to date price lists and ensure consistency across customer contracts.
Impact of External Market Factors:
- Forecast the impact of tariff changes, currency fluctuations, and freight costs on product pricing.
- Analyze cost breakdowns for direct imports vs. local stockholding strategies.
Supply Chain Cost Optimization:
- Work with logistics teams to optimize warehousing costs and distribution efficiencies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings in supply chain while maintaining service levels.
Reporting & Financial Compliance:
- Generate monthly and quarterly reports on cost structures, pricing analytics, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations related to importation, tariffs, and rebates.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for supply chain expenses and pricing adjustments.
- Provide insights to senior management on cost trends and financial performance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, pricing analysis, or financial planning – preferably in import/export, retail, or CPG industries.
- Strong understanding of landed cost calculations, tariffs, Incoterms, and global supply chain economics.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modelling), and data analytics tools.
- Experience working with big-box retailers and understanding of their rebate structures, chargebacks, and incentive programs.
- Knowledge of freight, warehousing, and last-mile distribution costs is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
