Purchasing Assistant

OXARC has been providing welding and industrial supplies, as well as, medical and specialty gases since 1968. OXARC is headquartered in Spokane, Washington with 22 stores in WA, ID and OR.

Salary Range: The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $20.00/hr. - $24.00/hr.-- DOE.

Job Summary: Supports the purchasing function by confirming purchase orders, processing vendor credits and warranties, assist in maintaining vendor files and tracking and follow-up on orders.

Duties include:

• Update part number descriptions and update pricing.
• Vendor price updates.
• Work closely with A/P about billing errors.
• Submitting to our vendors our reseller permits as requested.
• Selecting Usage Orders and distributing usage reports.
• Process vendor warranty claims.
• Communication with vendors and salespeople via email and phone.
• Notifying salespeople of vendor price increases.
• Contact vendors about shipping and billing errors.
• Purchase Order expediting.
• Answer general purchasing questions (status of purchase orders, phone numbers, pricing, and descriptions).
• Confirming purchase orders.
• Notifying salespeople of vendor price increases.

Requirements include:

• 1 year office and/or purchasing experience preferred
• Ability to work independently, establish priorities and accomplish objectives with minimal supervision
• Able to interact with co-workers and others in a positive, helpful manner.
• Must be self-motivated; able to work as a team and independently
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
