What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Technician - Overnight Shift position at Oxbow Center?
Position summary:
To assist clients with everyday tasks associated with the Group Home Residential center to include group activity, daily living, transportation and wellness care. The MHT will work closely with the attending therapist to ensure completion of assigned client homework, and participation in other therapy related activities.
Tasks:
- Work with treatment plan and monitor clients in order to detect unusual behavior, and report observations to clinical staff.
- Organize, participate, supervise, and encourage client participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.
- Accompany and/or transport clients to and from appointments for medical and dental treatments, shopping trips, and religious and recreational events.
- Work as part of a team that may include psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, therapists and case managers.
- Record and maintain records of client condition and activity, eating habits, and behavior.
- Clean and disinfect rooms and furnishings to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Prepare and serve meals.
- Monitor client’s medication routines to maintain consistency in medication regimen.
- Provide coverage as assigned for 24/7 facility, including weekends and holidays.
- Enter data into electronic health record software.
- Maintain personal timesheet.
- Daily review of company communications via email and teams messaging.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience And Education:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate; No experience required.
Hours: 3 Shifts per week/8 hour shifts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA regulations
- Willingness to learn and apply behavioral analysis techniques
- Comfortable working overnight shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
